Wedding celebrants

A celebrant is a great option for couples who want to personalise their wedding ceremony, or for couples who can’t get the ceremony time they want with a North Yorkshire County Council registrar.

Ceremonies conducted by celebrants are great fun - a celebrant can tailor proceedings to the couple, making the ceremony far more personal.

Couples can, of course, still say their vows, exchange rings, and sign a document of some description, but remember: the marriage isn't legally binding (so you'll need to legally marry in a registry office before or after your wedding day at The Normans!)

We list a handful of our favourite celebrants, below…

Celebrate with Ria

Ria used to be a North Yorkshire County Council Registrar, so she’s officiated plenty of ceremonies at The Normans! Ria’s now branching out on her own, conducting compassionate and unique ceremonies, combined with her personable presence.

Rachael Meyer

Rachael is a full-time humanist wedding celebrant based in North Yorkshire. She works with couples to write and deliver wonderful, bespoke, non-religious wedding ceremonies across the county.

John Dawson

Celebrant John believes that wedding ceremonies should reflect the individuality of a couple. What’s more: John lives in the nearby village of Bilbrough, so he can easily meet couples onsite in then build-up to a wedding!

Rachael Bowers

Humanist wedding celebrant Rachael brings love, authentic stories and laidback vibes to ceremonies.
